How to Opt-in & Opt-out Users
from Your WhatsApp Broadcasts in Wavixo
Step-by-step guide to automatically manage user consent for receiving WhatsApp updates.
⭐ How to Opt-out Users Automatically in Wavixo
WhatsApp requires businesses to obtain Opt-in permission before sending messages to users. Opt-ins may come directly from WhatsApp or from external sources such as websites, signup checkboxes, landing pages, or social media ads.
Equally important, WhatsApp requires businesses to provide users with a simple option to Opt-out from receiving future notifications.
This guide explains how to set up automatic Opt-in and Opt-out for your users inside the Wavixo app.
1. Go to Opt-in Management
Navigate to:
Manage → Opt-in Management
Here you’ll find all Opt-in and Opt-out settings.
2. Enable API Campaign Opt-out
Turn ON the API Campaign Opt-out toggle so users can be automatically opted out when they send Opt-out keywords.
3. Add Opt-out Keywords
To allow users to remove themselves from your WhatsApp updates, add up to 5 Opt-out keywords.
Examples of keywords:
STOP
Don’t send me messages
Unsubscribe
I don’t want updates
Steps:
Enable the Opt-out Response toggle
Enter your Opt-out keywords into the keyword boxes
Click Save Settings
Whenever a user sends any of these keywords on WhatsApp, Wavixo will automatically mark them as opted-out.
4. (Optional) Personalize the Opt-out Response Message
You can customize the message that users receive after they Opt-out.
To configure:
Click Configure Message
Choose either:
A pre-approved template, OR
A new message (regular text or template with image/video)
Click Save Configuration
Example message shown in the image:
“You have been opted-out of your future communications.”
⭐ How to Opt-in Users Automatically in Wavixo
1. Enable Opt-in Keywords
Turn ON the Opt-in Response toggle and open the Opt-in settings.
2. Add Opt-in Keywords
Add keywords that users can send to Opt-in automatically.
Examples:
Send me updates
Allow
I am in
You can also send these keywords via:
WhatsApp messages
Quick Reply buttons (e.g., “Subscribe”)
Whenever a user sends one of these messages, they are automatically opted-in.
3. Configure the Opt-in Response Message
To create a personalized Opt-in confirmation:
Click Configure Message
Choose a pre-approved template or create a new one
Save the configuration
Example shown:
“Thanks, You have been opted-in of your future communications.”
4. Click Save Settings
This activates all Opt-in keywords and response messages.
⭐ How to Ensure Your Broadcasts Exclude Opt-out Users
To send campaigns only to users who have opted in:
1. Go to Contacts
2. Click Filter
3. Under Opted In, select Yes
4. Click Apply
Now your Broadcasts will reach only the opted-in audience and automatically exclude everyone who opted out.
