WhatsApp API Pricing Update
Meta has implemented a significant change in how WhatsApp Business API is billed. The system is shifting from per-conversation billing to per-message billing for template messages. This change is intended to make pricing easier to understand and more predictable
Key Changes
Billing is now based on each delivered template message, not on a 24-hour conversation window.
This applies to:
Marketing templates
Utility templates
Authentication templates
Service messages and Utility messages sent within an active customer service window remain FREE.
Customer Service Window: How It Works
When a user sends your business a message:
A 24-hour service window opens.
Every new reply from the user resets this 24-hour window.
During this window, you may send:
Free-form messages
Utility templates free of charge
⚠️ Utility messages sent outside the 24-hour window will be charged.
Example Scenario
A customer sends you a message at 10:00 AM on Monday.
10:05 AM — You reply from Wavixo Live Chat
✅ Free (within customer service window)
10:30 AM — Customer replies
The 24-hour window refreshes (now valid till Tuesday 10:30 AM)
11:15 AM — You send an order update (Utility template)
✅ Free (within service window)
4:00 PM — You send a marketing template
💰 Charged as per marketing rate (₹0.88/message for India)
5:00 PM — You send a reminder (Utility template)
✅ Free (still within the 24-hour window)
Next day – 11:40 AM — You send another Utility message
⚠️ Now outside the 24-hour window → Charged utility rate (₹0.125/message for India)

Pricing Stays the Same Per Category
Per-message pricing remains identical to the earlier per-conversation rates:
Marketing templates: ₹0.88/message
Utility templates: ₹0.125/message
Authentication templates: ₹0.125/message
